Under this program, HOPE meets all the basic needs of a child under a family-based child care arrangement. Guidance and counseling are provided to children and their respective parents or guardians individually and in groups. Medical care is available through either our own clinic or private community facilities, emphasizing preventive health measures. The program also includes all school expenses up to high school. Additional services include a foster family allowance, clothing & footwear, a "bundle of love" Christmas gift, and a shower service at school for the children. HOPE’s child care officer makes regular home visits to all beneficiaries to ensure that proper care is paid and no neglect is evident. The most needy beneficiaries are selected in consultation with the local or village government, based on a classification of half-orphan, full-orphan, or destitute. Resources for this program are derived from sponsors for individual children. Over 2000 children currently benefit from this program. The cost of sponsorship of a child is USD 20 per month.
