Based on demand assessments, the subject areas taught are Electrical Technology, General Mechanics, Construction Technology, Wood Works, International Hotel & Catering Services, Secretarial Services and Office Management, and Plumbing. The HOPE campuses at Addis Ababa and Dessie have full facilities, including provision of work clothes and shower service for students. Soon the Gambella Branch will have its own training in Intensive Agriculture, Secretarial Service, and Information and Communication Technology. In all programs, the focus is on practical shop skills with apprenticeship, to ensure that the graduates have well-developed, marketable skills. Students are accepted from HOPE’s schools as well as from other charities and government agencies working with needy youngsters.
