HOPE University College
Ethiopia's first not-for-profit liberal arts university college was established in 2010 with the aim of providing a first class educational establishment for the youth of Ethiopia. It was also established with the purpose of reducing the long-standing "brain drain" in the country resulting from students fleeing abroad looking for the quality education they could not find at home. It is designed to develop informed, articulate, sensitive and holistic leaders who can make a positive, transformational difference in the development of Ethiopia and the rest of the Horn of Africa. This should be achieved within a community of academic excellence and value maturity, through autonomous thinking, continuous learning processes, reflection, research, experimentation, and concern and service to others.
